I've always loved the way pixel game characters express so much with so little – a few squares for eyes, a dot for a nose, a tiny blush. This piece started with that feeling: two small faces, side by side, framed by a heart. It could be a couple, best friends, or two halves of the same person – the meaning is yours.
The layered borders were a late addition but became my favourite part – the white scalloped edge gives it softness, and the black checkerboard frame adds that bold retro game energy. The four tiny corner flowers tie it all together, like little love notes in each corner.
