🕯️ A 15cm monochrome portrait of a mysterious nun in a wide, flowing grey headdress. The veil is built from layered white and charcoal beads, with a subtle cross-star pattern at the centre – rendered in soft gradients that suggest the folds of heavy fabric. I've always been drawn to the quiet, solemn beauty of vintage gothic imagery – the heavy fabrics, the dark silhouettes, the sense of mystery and stillness. This piece is my attempt to capture that feeling: a nun in a flowing grey headdress, half-hidden, surrounded by crosses that seem to melt like wax.
The monochrome palette was essential – no colour, just light and shadow. The different grey tones create the illusion of fabric folds, lace patterns, and cold metal. The crosses on the sides were the most haunting detail to design – their soft, dripping tips give them a surreal, almost organic quality, like they're dissolving into the darkness.
Every finished piece is hand‑fused by me. Every kit is sorted with care. No machines, no shortcuts – just beads, patience, and a love for quiet, beautiful darkness.
